Alena, a native of East Tennessee, received her Bachelor of Architecture from University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Master of Science Degree in Architecture and Urban Design from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.  While in school at UT, she had the opportunity to study abroad at the Rome Study Center for Architecture and Humanities.

Her work experience includes architecture, graphic design, suburban design and product design. Architectural projects that she has worked on include educational, recreation, manufacturing and residential.  She has experience in all phases of project development including design development, construction documents, selection and specification of finishes and materials, construction administration and project coordination.

As a project leader at the Workshop, she continues to broaden her experience in various project types.  She particularly enjoys projects that involve both architectural and urban design.  She is a LEED Accredited Professional, an active member of the Middle TN AIA, and a Nashville Community Concert Band member.
